Just north of downtown Middlefield, in the heart of Northeast Ohio’s Amish Country, you’ll find a place where every corner tells a story. Country Arts & Jewelry, owned by Deborah Wenner, is more than a shop — it’s a lifetime of passion, family tradition, and carefully curated treasures.
Deborah’s story begins more than 40 years ago with her parents, Carol and Jerry Wenner. What started as a small venture at flea markets and specialty shows quickly grew into something much bigger. Inspired by Deborah’s aunt and uncle, who were already in the business, the Wenners took a leap — attending their first show together and never looking back.
From local flea markets to high-end shows at places like the IX Center in Cleveland, the business evolved over the years. But eventually, the pace of traveling shows gave way to a new vision — putting down roots.
That vision became reality in Middlefield.
The building that now houses Country Arts & Jewelry has a story of its own. Once used as the original holding pens for the Middlefield animal auctions, it has been transformed into a unique shopping destination filled with character, history, and charm.
Inside, each room offers something different.
The crystal room draws visitors in with its calming energy and wide variety — from everyday stones to rare finds. Whether someone is simply browsing or exploring spiritual healing, there’s something for every interest and budget, including rose quartz, amethyst, clear quartz, and selenite.
Nearby, the sage and herb section offers items used for cleansing and purifying spaces, while shelves throughout the shop feature everything from scented oils and candles to handcrafted goods and globally sourced pieces.
You’ll find beautiful Mata Ortiz pottery from Mexico, handcrafted knives for collectors, Native American-inspired décor, and a large selection of framed artwork. Antique lovers can browse an ever-changing collection of primitives and vintage pieces, many currently offered at significant savings.
Jewelry is at the heart of the shop, with stunning displays of turquoise, opals, spiny oyster, and unique stones like larimar — often mistaken for turquoise but known for its ocean-like beauty. There are pieces for everyone, from bold statement items to subtle, everyday wear, including options designed specifically for men.
For those who like to create, there’s even a section dedicated to jewelry-making supplies, where customers can select their own stones and materials to design something truly personal.
