Geauga Amish Historical Library Preserves Amish-Mennonite-Anabaptist Heritage in Northeast Ohio Amish Country
The Geauga Amish Historical Library, established in 2014, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to collecting, preserving, displaying, and educating the public about Amish-Mennonite-Anabaptist history and culture in Northeast Ohio Amish Country. The library’s growing collection includes books, historical documents, and artifacts that date back to the 16th century, offering visitors rare insight into regional heritage and Amish genealogy.
Visitors can browse an on-site gift shop featuring authentic Amish handcrafts made by local artisans ranging in age from teenagers to 90-year-olds. Items include traditional crafts, quilts, woodwork, leather goods, and other handmade products unique to Amish culture.
The library welcomes the public, including school groups, tour buses, local residents, travelers, and heritage tourism groups exploring Amish communities in Northeast Ohio.
