Weaver Bedding: Handcrafted Comfort, Built on Family Tradition

For nearly 35 years, Weaver Bedding has helped customers enjoy a better night’s sleep through quality craftsmanship, personal service and mattresses made with care. Located in Middlefield, Ohio, the family-owned business was founded by Eli Weaver in 1991—but Eli’s experience in mattress manufacturing began long before then.

Eli entered the bedding industry in 1977, working for a manufacturer of mattress components and learning the business from the inside out. After gaining years of hands-on knowledge, he recognized an opportunity to eliminate the middleman and offer high-quality mattresses directly to customers. That vision became Weaver Bedding.

Quality You Can Feel

Rather than following the mass-production approach common throughout the mattress industry, Weaver Bedding focuses on producing dependable, comfortable mattresses with careful attention to detail. The company specializes in high-quality, two-sided mattresses that can be flipped periodically, helping promote even wear and a longer useful life.

Customers can select from different comfort options based on their individual sleeping preferences. Plush cushioning and thoughtfully selected materials create a comfortable sleep surface, while dependable innerspring construction provides the support needed for a restful night.

This commitment to comfort has earned Weaver Bedding a loyal customer base, including many older adults looking for a mattress that offers the right combination of softness and support. The company relies primarily on recommendations from satisfied customers rather than extensive advertising.

“Word of mouth is the best advertisement,” Eli says.

Carefully Sourced Materials

Weaver Bedding proudly sources nearly all its mattress materials from manufacturers in the United States. The outer mattress fabric, known as ticking, comes from North Carolina and is quilted to Weaver Bedding’s specifications by a family-operated business in Holmes County.

Eli regularly travels throughout Holmes County with a 14-foot enclosed trailer to collect materials from trusted suppliers. These longstanding relationships help Weaver Bedding maintain consistent quality while supporting other regional and American businesses.

Handcrafted Beds Made to Last

In addition to mattresses, Weaver Bedding offers beautifully handcrafted beds made by Eli’s cousin in Michigan. Constructed from genuine wood rather than inexpensive pressed materials, these bed frames are designed to provide exceptional strength, beauty and durability.

Eli describes them as sturdy enough that “you could literally walk a horse across these frames.” While customers may never need to put that claim to the test, it reflects the level of confidence Weaver Bedding places in the construction of every bed it sells.

Growing Through Hard Work

When Eli moved the business to its current location in 2013, mattress production took place in a narrow 30-by-110-foot workspace. As the company continued to grow, the facility was expanded to provide additional production and storage space while creating a more efficient workflow.

The move proved valuable for both the family and the business, contributing to an approximately 30% increase in business. Today, the larger facility allows materials and finished products to remain organized while giving the Weaver Bedding team the room needed to serve customers efficiently.

Eli’s wife, Ada, has also played an important role, helping with the business whenever needed while managing the many responsibilities of family life. Away from mattress production, the Weaver family remains connected to the land and spends time making maple syrup each spring.

Preparing the Next Generation

Family remains at the heart of Weaver Bedding. Eli’s youngest son, Timothy, is now learning the business and becoming more involved in its daily operation. As Eli gradually steps back, he hopes to pass along not only his knowledge of mattress manufacturing but also the values that have guided the company since its beginning.

Those values—honest work, durable products and attentive customer service—have allowed Weaver Bedding to grow without losing its personal touch.

“I still enjoy what I do,” Eli says. “It’s all about creating the best sleep experience for our customers.”

Eli and the entire Weaver Bedding team extend their sincere appreciation to the loyal customers who have supported the business throughout the years.

“We have been truly blessed,” Eli says.
